Simplify and Savor

June Words of Encouragement

Last year at this time we posted quotes surrounding our gratitude for fathers and husbands. This year for the June Words of Encouragement we are focusing on a specific father, who exemplifies perseverance. Whether it be in his role of inventor, or his role as a father, Thomas Edison has taught us how to face challenges and work through them.

I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. –Thomas Edison.

No matter how many times you have tried, if you are determined enough you will find that one solution that will work. Just have patience and determination.

Vision without execution is hallucination. –Thomas Edison.

If only we could visualize our intended goal and make it happen without effort, heartaches, and failures. What we learn along the way is just as important as the destination. So take intentional action every day to reach your vision. You will get there!

The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will instruct his patient in the care of the human frame, and in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease. –Thomas Edison.

As important as that would be, it would be equally important for their advice to be received in a pro-active way. Simply educating of the importance does not make the patients listen, so it takes patience and perseverance to continue educating them to do right by their bodies. I had wished that the advice I received about the care of my body would have been taken more seriously at a young age, and maybe I wouldn’t have the difficulties that I am dealing with now. Hindsight is 20/20.

If we did all the things that we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves. –Thomas Edison.

Go after your goals rather than sitting idly by waiting for life to happen to you. You need to embrace life and work towards the life you want to live.

A diamond is a piece of coal that stuck to the job. –Thomas Edison.

This is a perfect example of how weathering the stressors of life and having patience can truly pay off.

Tomorrow is my exam, but I don’t care because a single sheet of paper can’t decide my future. –Thomas Edison.

Life is a series of tests. Some we will do well on, and some we will fail. The trick is, to keep going.

Your worth consists in what you are and not in what you have. –Thomas Edison.

The only thing you truly own is the knowledge, beliefs, and human capital you have developed over time. Any physical wealth can be stripped from you at any time. You need to ask yourself who you are without those materialistic things.

The value of an idea lies in the using of it. –Thomas Edison.

Because what value is carried in an idea if it isn’t going to be used? There is no value unless you use the idea to create your vision.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. –Thomas Edison.

Do you ever ask yourself if you have given up too soon? Maybe just one more try, or 5 more minutes. In other words. Never give up!

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. –Thomas Edison.

Hard work and energy go into achieving your goals. You will endure stress, perhaps blood, sweat, and tears. The main thing is to keep on going, because it will be worth it in the end.

We hope that these quotes will help you to persevere through your difficult times in order to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.
