August Words of Encouragement

Every month when going through inspirational quotes I try to empathize with what people are feeling. Then see if there is a common theme that runs throughout. I feel like there are a lot of people that just need to experience some spirituality, without pulling quotes from bible verses, or proverbs. So this month for the August Words of Encouragement I pulled some quotes from Buddha. These might help some of us experience the peace we really need right now.

If your compassion does not include yourself it is incomplete. -Buddha

You need to be self aware. To care for the needs of others, you must also pay attention to your own self care and health. As parents and caring humans we often times put the needs of others first. Without giving ourselves what we need to continue providing that care and love for others. By caring for ourselves, we ensure that we are present to continue giving that compassion and care for others.

Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have. -Buddha

It comes down to mindset. There are millionaires, who have all the materialistic wants met. In the end, some of them are miserable. Then you can take an individual living day to day, unsure of whether their basic needs are met, and they can appear to be the happiest person. How can that be? It is all in their mindset. Being appreciative of even the smallest thing, can help to raise your level of happiness.

Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? -Buddha

Lies, gossip, and hurtful words do not benefit anyone. Be thoughtful, truthful, intentional, and above all kind in the words you speak. It will benefit those you speak to, and it will elevate your happiness and level of positivity.

Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are, it solely relies on what you think. -Buddha

Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are, it solely relies on what you think. –Buddha

This again points to our mindset. If you think positive thoughts, you are more likely to see the good in people, situations, and every day life. By thinking negative thoughts, you will see, feel, and emit negative energy and attract that negativity. So think positively, and pick out the things in each day that you are grateful for, or find joy in.

What you think you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create. -Buddha

What you think you become- What you feel, you attract- What you imagine, you create.  –Buddha

Create the life you want to live by not only visualizing and goal setting, but by feeling the future you want to experience. By feeling those emotions you can set the course to achieve whatever it is you want to accomplish.

Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most. -Buddha

Don’t let what happened yesterday affect how you approach today. The past is in the past. There is no changing what has already been done. By taking hold of the present you can help create your future. So today, be grateful for the good things, and ask what your next step is to achieve the goal you have in mind. Then tackle that next step, and enjoy the journey. If you make a mistake, try again tomorrow. Approaching things with a clear mind will help you achieve a clearer vision.

In the end only three things matter: How much you loved. How gently you lived. How gracefully you let go of things not meant for you. -Buddha

No one is ever guaranteed tomorrow. Not to scare anyone, but it is just a fact of life. If we are lucky enough to be here today be sure to tell those who are closest to you how much you love them. How much you appreciate them. Never leave those feelings left unsaid. Be good to your environment and those around you. If there is negative resistance to a person or a project, let it go. It will only continue to infiltrate your positivity.

At the end of the day, I'm at peace, because my intentions are good, and my heart is pure. -Buddha

Never hold hate, animosity, jealousy, or negativity towards anyone. Forgive and let go. Be kind, courteous, and accepting. It is as much for you as it is for the person receiving it.

Three things cannot be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. -Buddha

Three things cannot be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.  –Buddha

This one is pretty self explanatory. You can guarantee that you will eventually see the sun, and the moon. Some people may feel that they can hide the truth, but eventually just like the sun and moon, you will see the truth too.

Maturity is learning to walk away from people and situations that threaten your peace of mind, self-respect, values, morals, and self worth. -Buddha

The best thing you can do for yourself is to protect your positive energy, and allow yourself the care you need in order to continue sharing that care and positivity with others. To allow people and situations control your energy, and create a negative space for yourself is not only doing a dis-service to yourself, but it is a dis-service to those around you as well.

I hope that these August Words of Encouragement will help you look at your own spiritual journey. Allowing you to experience happiness and peace in the coming month.
